Biodegradation is a chemical process in which materials are metabolized to CO2, water and biomass with the help of microorganisms. The biodegradation process depends on the conditions of the specific environment (industrial composting plant, garden composting, soil, water, etc.), such as location, temperature, humidity, the presence of microorganisms, etc., as well as the material or application itself. Therefore, the process and its results may vary greatly.
