1. Microbial Degradation Process of Starch PE Film
将淀粉与助剂(如脂肪酸和自氧化剂等)添加入聚乙烯,使之具有被微生物降解的功能。此降解机理可分为二种相互作用的过程:
Starch and additives (such as fatty acid and autooxidant) are added into polyethylene to make it have the function of being degraded by microorganisms. This degradation mechanism can be divided into two interactive processes:
个过程:淀粉是以颗粒形式存在于聚乙烯中,淀粉颗粒首先被微生物侵噬,这样就导致了聚合物强度下降,并且塑料的表面积大大地增加;
The first process: starch exists in polyethylene in the form of granules. Starch granules are first invaded by microorganisms, which leads to the decrease of polymer strength and the large increase of plastic surface area;
第二个过程:添加的自氧化剂与土壤中的金属盐反应生成过氧化物,此过氧化物可切断聚合物分子链,并且造成的聚合物表面积增大对此过程又有极大的促进。
The second process: the added autooxidant reacts with the metal salt in the soil to form a peroxide, which can cut off the polymer molecular chain and increase the polymer surface area, which greatly promotes this process.
聚合物由于断链而使分子量降低,进而成为更低分子量的低聚体,部分可由一般的微生物所降解,分解成CO2和H2O。
The molecular weight of polymer decreases due to chain breaking, and then becomes an oligomer with lower molecular weight. Some of the oligomers can be degraded by ordinary microorganisms, and finally decomposed into CO2 and H2O.
微生物的降解受到温度、湿度、微生物种类及数量、pH值、是否有金属盐参与、聚合物的活性成分比例等因素的影响。添加淀粉的聚乙烯所制成的膜,只要不是放置在土壤、淡水或海水等微生物活动旺盛的地方就不会引起降解。
Microbial degradation is affected by temperature, humidity, microbial species and quantity, pH value, whether metal salts are involved, and the proportion of active components of polymers. The film made of polyethylene added with starch will not cause degradation as long as it is not placed in the soil, fresh water or sea water and other places where microbial activity is strong.
